"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. " -Philippians 1:21

Pastor Blake Hart - Lead Pastor

Brought here by the military, Blake served in the U.S. Army for 5 years and continues to work with the Alaska National Guard. He joined our staff in February of 2017 as our Minister of Education. After a time of Pastoral Transition, the church called Blake to be the Pastor in April of 2018. He is married to his wife Rae, and together they have two sons Colt, Winchester, and a daughter Georgia. He holds an M. Div with an emphasis in church history from Liberty University and is currently working towards his Ph.D. in History. He is a strong advocate of Biblical exposition believing very much in the importance of regular verse by verse preaching through books of the Bible. He also has a heart and passion to train, develop, and empower both pastoral and lay leaders towards the ministries that God has called them to serve in.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.” -Proverb 3:5-6

Pastor Freddie Teague - Executive Pastor & Worship Leader

Freddie and his family have come from Springfield, MO, to love, commune, and serve with and to those who call Hillside Baptist Church their home. Heeding the call from God to the people of Alaska has been a journey with struggle, adversity, and danger, but through the grace of God has been met with the fulfillment of a call of over two years. After their eldest son was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2016 to become a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital patient, the LORD revealed Himself to them in grace, mercy, suffering, and providence. After finishing his treatment and being cleared of Leukemia, the Teague family became overly burdened in heart and spirit for the lives and souls of those living in Alaska. Through obedience and provisional means, the Teague’s were finally able to be planted in Anchorage to the loving and welcoming Hillside Baptist Church. Freddie is achieving his M.Div. through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After serving some time in a pastoral apprenticeship under Pastor Blake Hart, he was called by Hillside Baptist Church as their Executive Pastor.
